The Journey of a Young Man Who Refused to Give Up

Every great story has a beginning, and his began not in a big city or a privileged home, but in the small village of Asankragwa-Moseaso.

He did not have the privilege of growing up with his parents. His childhood was spent under the care of his late uncle, Benjamin Owusu, in Takoradi-Kojokrom, Twabeawu. Those early years were not always easy, but they became the foundation upon which his life would later be built.

His educational journey began at Roman Catholic Basic School in Moseaso. He later continued at Top Hill Preparatory School in Twabeawu before moving to Kumasi, where he started his Junior High School education at Christian M/A JHS.

After successfully completing JHS, he proceeded to Juaben Senior High School, Ejisu-Juaben. Eventually, another important chapter of his journey began when he gained admission to Enchi College of Education (EnchiCoE).

He arrived at Enchi with dreams, uncertainty, and a strong desire to become more than his circumstances.

A DREAM TO CHANGE THE NARRATIVE

Life has not always been easy for him.

There were moments of doubt and moments when he questioned whether he had what it took to make a difference. But deep within him was a desire to change the narrative.

He wanted to inspire people.

He wanted to make an impact.

He wanted everyone who came into his world to feel valued, welcomed, and at home.

That desire gradually drew him into leadership and service.

In 2023, he became a Course Representative at Enchi College of Education, a position he held until 2025. That same year, he became Face of EnchiCoE and took on the role of CEO of Unique Collections, an entrepreneurial venture he continues to build.

He also became Face of AFRES/Mr. Francophonie, representing the Association of French Students, and later became a Brand Ambassador for Ni-Pres Fashion.

Leadership soon became more than an interest; it became a responsibility.

In 2024, he served as General Secretary of the Assemblies of God Campus Ministry, EnchiCoE, and later became General Secretary of the EnchiCoE Students Chaplaincy Board from 2024 to 2025.

He also served as Financial Secretary of African Faith Tabernacle Church, Asankragwa-Moseaso, a responsibility he continues to hold.

Beyond these roles, he became a Campus Ambassador for the Ghana Tertiary Excellence Awards, a position he has held since 2024. He has also been part of EnchiCoE TV, contributing to the media and communication space within the college.

THE FAILURE THAT DID NOT END THE DREAM

Perhaps one of the most important chapters of his leadership story was the one that did not go according to plan.

He contested for the position of SRC President.

He believed he could serve. He believed he could make a difference.

But he lost.

For a young person with dreams of leadership, losing an election can be painful. There were doubts, questions, and the temptation to step back and forget about leadership altogether.

But he chose differently.

He refused to give up.

That failure became one of his greatest teachers.

It taught him that losing a position does not mean losing his purpose. It taught him that rejection is not always the end of the journey. Sometimes, it is simply preparation for something greater.

Instead of allowing the defeat to define him, he continued serving, learning, building relationships, and developing himself.

FROM CAMPUS LEADERSHIP TO NATIONAL SERVICE

His journey continued to open doors.

In 2024, he was honoured by Glint Africa as the Best Student Male Model in Ghana. The same period also saw him continue his work as a campus ambassador and student leader.

In 2025, he had the privilege of serving as President of the Wassa Students Union, Enchi.

But perhaps one of the most remarkable turns in his journey came after his SRC presidential defeat.

With an ambition to continue serving and making an impact, he contested for the position of National Treasurer of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) in 2025 and won.

What could have been the end of his leadership aspirations became the beginning of a greater chapter of national service.

His journey would later rise even further as he became President of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG).

From a small village in Moseaso to national leadership, his journey is a powerful reminder that one failure cannot define a person’s destiny.

MORE THAN TITLES

Looking at his journey, one does not simply see a collection of titles. One sees a collection of lessons.

One sees the young boy from Moseaso.

One sees the child who grew up away from his parents.

One sees the influence of his late uncle, Benjamin Owusu, who played an important role in his upbringing.

One sees the student who moved from Moseaso to Twabeawu, then Kumasi, Ejisu-Juaben, and eventually Enchi.

One sees the young man who had doubts about leadership.

One sees the candidate who contested for SRC President and lost.

But one also sees the person who decided to keep going.

His journey has taught him that hard work, determination, consistency, and God’s grace can take a person beyond what they once thought was possible.

Every position he has held has been an opportunity to serve. Every award has been a reminder of responsibility. Every failure has strengthened his resolve. Every challenge has added another chapter to his story.

Today, he remains an entrepreneur, student leader, ambassador, media personality, servant leader, and above all, a young man who believes in the power of purpose.

THE JOURNEY IS STILL ONGOING

He is not where he started.

But he is also not yet where he wants to be.

There are still dreams to pursue, lives to touch, people to inspire, communities to serve, and narratives to change.

His story is not a story of privilege.

It is a story of resilience.

It is a story of determination.

It is a story of faith.

It is a story of failure and rising again.

It is a story of God’s grace.

And perhaps most importantly, it is a story that reminds every young person who feels limited by their background that where you come from does not have to determine where you are going.

From Asankragwa-Moseaso to Enchi College of Education, from a failed SRC presidential bid to national leadership within TTAG, his journey has been filled with lessons, challenges, opportunities, and grace.

He is a testament to the fact that you can start small and still dream big.

He is a testament to hard work, determination, and God’s grace.

And as he continues this journey, his greatest desire remains unchanged:

To inspire.
To serve.
To make an impact.
And to make everyone who comes into his world feel at home.

The story is still being written.

And the best chapters are yet to come.
